SOFA - Support Opportunities For All

SOFA – SUPPORT OPPORTUNITIES FOR ALL
SOFA is……
A Social Enterprise – Making sandwiches which are delivered and sold in the Gateshead area
A Social Network – On Friday afternoons the group meets and takes part in a range of social activities.
Work Placements – Sofa organise work placements for members of the group. Placements have included working in a computer shop, Path Head Water Mill and the imperial Café.
Members of SOFA can work towards a range of awards and qualifications.
 
SOFA is for people aged 18 – 30 years old with a physical or learning disability.

At present we are based at Gateshead Indoor Bowling centre.

On Tuesday the 8th of February 14 members of SOFA - Supporting Opportunities For All - enjoyed a delicious meal at the Gold Medal in Low Fell.

The whole event was about getting together and getting to know each other and have fun.

SOFA had a great time

SOFA Work Experience

The trainees of SOFA attend Work Experience once a week at various organisations in the local community to help them gain more confidence and valuable experience in a working environment.

IT Express has given me more confidence improving my computer skills and also my social skills.
